Virtual hosts in nginx?

Deleted everything from /sites-enabled/ and /sites-available/,
service nginx restart did,
the site works the same, no changes. nginx.conf is not responsive either. what to do? where to look?
nginx -t => ok
upd 1
after service nginx stop
and in status nginx is not running
and apache is not running
vps continues to work.. why?

Look at nginx.conf, maybe configs are loaded not from the site-* folders.
