Very slow WiFi

Problem: the exchange speed between two devices does not exceed 400kb according to iperf and 100-200kb according to actual copying.
At the same time, the torrent downloads 800kb without any problems (8Mbit I have a channel) from the Internet via the same file.
Connecting one of the devices via twisted pair does not change the picture much - still no more than a megabit.
Tested on ASUS N11 (offended by him and passed) and Linkbit WAG120N.
Different devices were tested (three laptops, a media center, various .11-n adapters), different channels, antennas in different directions, and so on.
I don’t understand anything - where is the speed !?

(during testing, one of the devices was always on Linux, but on very different kernels)

Play around manually with the choice of the wi-fi channel. I had similar symptoms, on channels 6 and 8 losses were visible even on pings, on channel 11 it worked like clockwork. This is not a ready-made recipe, try it yourself, it all depends on the wi-fi points around you and other interference.

I don’t know how exactly this is the problem in this case, but I’ll give everyone a simple advice: for all routers, where possible, use the www.dd-wrt.com/site/index firmware - it will be much faster, glitches will evaporate ...

And show the output of iwconfig

@sht0rm

ifconfig also does not hurt, for any dropped packets.
