Vector graphics in Unity for a 2D game?

What is the point of writing vector graphics if you then have to export it in PNG format. After all, in this case, you can immediately work in PS? Or I still don’t fully understand this ..
I tried to write a vector, and then exported it to Png, and, accordingly, in Unity itself, the graphics were already far from high-quality in different resolutions. Can you explain a little?

Exporting to PNG is a common practice, everyone does it. If you want to get honest vector graphics in the unit, then starting from 2018.1 there is a package com.unity.vectorgraphics, you can read more about it here . Or you can use the plugin .

Some artists find it easier to work in vector. In some cases, the vector is easier to edit (UI, for example) - two. A vector is always easier to overtake to a higher resolution than a raster - three. It is necessary - use a vector in the unit at once (although it seems to be impossible to natively yet) - four.

Most illustrators work directly in vector, even if the final files are raster. This is also true for gamedev.
