Using the Ubuntu tray in your programs

Ubuntu has its own tray, which works quite differently from the usual Gnomish one. Accordingly, the standard code

StatusIcon tray = new StatusIcon ();

does not work in it. More precisely, it works with the ['all'] hook in the system settings. And on the outside it looks completely different. How to make friends with the ubuntu tray?

@barker

"Normal Gnome" is the usual standard tray, as in all NETWM-compatible ones. And this one, therefore, is some kind of leftist thing. Strange, of course.
