Upgrade errors and FTP requests?

Good afternoon!
Please tell me how to solve the problem.
Put the site on WP a few months ago, everything worked fine. We recently needed to update the site, but there was a problem. The site does not allow updating styles, theme, or plugins. Generally does not allow to change the site.
On the page with styles, instead of the "update" button, the following message appears:

To save changes, you need to make this file writable. More information can be found in the Code.

When trying to update plugins, a window pops up first asking you to connect to FTP

Connection Information
To perform the requested action, WordPress needs access to your server. Please enter FTP access coordinates. If you don't remember the coordinates, you can get them from your hosting provider's support team.

I enter the password, the plugin update process starts, but then poof and an error
Update failed: Failed to create directory.

I read the information in the code, checked the folders for the presence of 755, everything is normal.
What is wrong - I do not understand. Other sites work fine... Maybe a hoster, but it's not clear here either.

Hello!
1) check chmod. folders 755. files 644
2) if you have vps check the user of the owner of these folders and Apache.
To change
3) define('FS_METHOD','direct');
Add this to wp-config.php and check again
