Under Debian 3.2.68 I give the command chmod 777 obmen. the command doesn't work. What's the matter?
Under Debian 3.2.68 I give the command chmod 777 obmen. those. allow everyone everything in the obmen directory. This is an exchange folder on the network (inside it, each user has its own folder). All grid under Windows. Users from under Windows throw files into the exchange. BUT (!) very often they are refused to write the file to their subdirectory. Sometimes it is possible to record. And it is also very interesting that the user cannot delete his file in the exchanger on the same day! Gives it the next day.
Directly from a Debian machine as root does not allow deleting files in the obmen directory. ("you are not the owner of the folder" - although I'm going from under root-a ...) Where is the "dog rummaged" here?
And the second.
It occurred to me to switch to graphical mode (gnome) .... / Was already installed under the user test. / I'm logged in - everything is fine. But now I do not know how to go under ROOT. There is no such user in GNOME.... How to switch back to DOS-window from graphics mode?
