Unable to install the program in ubuntu. What to do?

I am trying to install sysv-rc-conf via sudo apt-get install sysv-rc-conf command. But the output is E: dpkg terminated, you must manually run "sudo dpkg --configure -a" to fix the problem. I run sudo dpkg --configure -a and it shows the hanged
