Solved the problem on my own! When installing dovecot gave a window
+-----------------------+ Configuring dovecot-core +--------------- ---------+

An SSL certificate is needed in order to use IMAP or POP3 over SSL/TLS.
No such certificate was found.

Please choose whether you want to create one now. This will then be a
self signed certificate.

If you choose not to create a certificate, please adapt Dovecot's
configuration file (/etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-ssl.conf).

Create a self-signed SSL certificate?

Yes No

+------------------------------------------------- --------------------+
I did YES and I got 2 ssl certificates. I opened the file /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-ssl.conf and commented everything out and restarted Dovecot. Earned everything!

I would recommend that you do not write these configs by hand. They become obsolete, and you most likely have no idea what they do and how then to update this business and fix security bugs.
Therefore, I recommend www.iredmail.org , which automates the installation and configuration of everything you need for a web server, including the web interface. In fact, this is a set of bash scripts. And when a new version of iRedMail is released, there will be instructions on what and how to update. I've been using it for over a year, great product.
Just take an empty Ubuntu and install iRedMail, everything will most likely work out of the box.
