Ubuntu & photoshop performance
Good afternoon!
The issue is being resolved in buying a laptop, I don’t know what is better to choose - a poppy or a regular pc laptop, and then install linux.)
Yes, I know that this is a perversion, but still the opinion of people who work in Photoshop under Ubuntu or Linux is interesting in general - what is the performance compared to the notorious windows and (would be great) MacBook Pro.
Thank you!

I work with MBP and desktop with ArchLinux. I think I won’t surprise you that on a macbook, with fewer cores and RAM, it works much faster than under Linux in both wine and virtualbox. But even this is not the main thing. If you really need Photoshop, and not “scribble photos and cover up pimples”, then just try it under Linux, all questions will disappear immediately. And especially if you plan to buy a thread of vacom, which (let's be honest with ourselves) do not work very well in Linux. Decide what is your priority. Photoshop is important and you need it 90% of the time - it probably makes sense to overpay for a poppy, you run Photoshop once a week, the rest of the time write in python - anyone will do.
I risk being beaten and misunderstood by adherents of both OSes at once, but that's how it is in Habré :)
In my opinion and experience, the point here will not be in the performance of software and hardware, but in the performance of work in Photoshop, because. Using it under Linux is extremely inconvenient due to the peculiarities of the windowed mode. I could not go for it and adapt to photoshop in Linux) My recommendation is to take a MAC!
There was photoshop on ubuntu, now the MPB difference is huge, under Linux it’s impossible to work normally in FS, firstly because (either I did something wrong or haven’t finished it yet) the text tool doesn’t work, that is, photoshop flies right away, secondly, it just didn’t start for me after a couple of weeks. If the FSH norms worked under ubuntu, I would finally kill the computer with Windows at work :)
