Ubuntu 14.10 why no sound?

Hello. Put ubuntu next to windows 8.1.
There is no sound. I got to the bottom of the fact that the default sound card was not the one chosen - it changed. But the problem was not solved. I also reinstalled alsapixer (I went into it, everything is displayed normally there) and pulseaudio - it did not help, after that even in the sound settings the window itself became somehow transparent. Basically, I don't know what to try.
