Trial != We don't want to pay you this month.
Despite the same name "employers", they are all different.
I have had several companies in my life where I have been on probation.
For all the work, this period was paid, and worthy of it.
Let's say 50-65% of the promised salary for the trial period.
Sometimes this is due to the fact that the HR who invites you receives money for you.
The person found you, the person arranged for you, he gets a bonus of 20-30% of your salary.
Also, this part of the money can go not to HR, but to your Mentor, Mentor, about 20-30% as well.
Who are you brainwashing during your probationary period.
In any case, in the companies where I worked, it was something like this.
The figure of 50-60% is not exact, but only approximate. I personally have always had about 65-70% of the salary.
But my probationary period was always no more than 1 month.
Even when the company agreed on a period of 3-4 months.
If it is offered for a trial period less, we say goodbye and look for another employer.

The internship in the USA is not paid. Quite often, though not always.
There is no such rule in Russia. And the trial period (this is separately stipulated in the law) is also paid. Often in the amount of 2/3 of your future salary (if you pass the probationary period), and not 100%. But it must be paid. And not 20 or 30% of the salary. Especially in IT.
Probation means that you can be fired without any formalities.
And only this.

Well, if they tell you that the trial period is not paid, then they go to hell
. In normal organizations, the trial period is paid.

The probationary period is when you officially get a job in an office, that is, you enter into a regular employment contract, which will be spelled out with a probationary period of 2 months. As for the salary, it is either negotiated separately in the contract, or the same as your future salary. But during this time, the employer can fire you without any article, that is, you stupidly did not fit or did not cope. But the salary is still paid for the time that you have worked.
