Traffic accounting. linux?

Tell me, now there is such a scheme - the client is connected to the switch (the port poppy of the client is tied + the speed is limited). It is necessary for yourself (the client does not need anything) to keep track of who downloaded how much + preferably who is online, etc.
As I understand it, you need to count the traffic and enter it into the database.

I think NeTAMS ( www.netams.com ) is just right for you.

If the switch can, then collect information on netflow from the port.
If besides is able to collect an intel on snmp from port.
It all depends on the switch and implementation method.

We have Squid + SAMS at work. But this is only the 80th port.
NeTAMS, as far as I understand, does not support detailing - who went where, but it counts everything.
If that's enough, then use it. Otherwise, you need to look towards paid NetUp types.
