Topic of the diploma (dissertation) on "Computer vision" and "AI"

I ask for your help. It is necessary to come up with (choose) a topic for a master's thesis in the direction of "Computer Vision" and / or "Artificial Intelligence".

I happened to choose this direction at the end of the last academic year, but, unfortunately, the promising teacher turned out to be not very “advanced” in this topic. All his suggestions are very boring or do not carry any useful load.

I would like to hear from you interesting and relevant topics, perhaps those that can be implemented (in the form of a small project or an addition to OpenCV, etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'm interested in systems with functionality:
- recognition of road signs with the output of appropriate warnings (visual or audio) for the driver.
— a “social network” for drivers: the camera recognizes license plates in the stream. If he finds "familiar" drivers, he reports, like "your friend is driving" :) Difficult, of course.
And you can “cram” the above into one application) I don’t know, really, whether this is like a diploma.

Maybe something related to augmented reality? Watch the video on YouTube. Looks impressive

Try space navigation with a stereo or mono camera.

Is there an algorithm for recognizing vertically taken photos / videos from horizontally?
Sorry if it's nonsense, but it would be useful :)

Expert system for the classification of 3d objects. For 2d, there seems to be such a thing (I haven’t heard that it worked well, really). Try for 3D models.
