Thumbnail snippets don't work on modx evo. How to fix?

, an ancient site on evo 1.0.5, php 5.3.28
created a gallery on fancybox, you need to crop the reduced thumbnails for the gallery (the size of all the pictures is different - just reduced - stretched)
The problem is that advthumbs and phpThumb did not work on the site initially .
I reinstalled the snippets, tried all the versions I found. No errors - just nothing, as if there were none.
And on a similar site (the same version of evo), on the same hosting and the same PHP version, everything works great. Xs what's the problem, already the brain broke.
Maybe there is some other ready-made way to crop miniatures?
