I have a netgear wndr3700 router with openwrt.
Yesterday, the Internet suddenly became worse. Rebooted the router. After the reboot, wifi began to be caught only 2 meters from the router. Updated the firmware from scratch via tftp. The same. I installed the official firmware from netgir. The same problem. Please tell me what could be the problem.
P.S. Yesterday there was a new computer-to-computer network named rover1 with wep encryption on channel 6. I'm on channel 1. Can it jam my signal?

Run the inSSider program: www.metageek.net/products/inssider/download/
It will show crossed channels. Switch to another channel in the router settings.

I won’t say for sure for the channel number, I don’t remember it because of the prescription of years, but it happened like this: in the evening, at about the same time, wifi started to slow down or fail, for a long time they were looking for a reason until they caught the specific circumstances of the case.

Well, from your pictures you can see everything - two grids, intersecting channels, the signal level is equally low. Move channels to 1-3 or 11-14. There will be a narrower grid, but less interference.

And if you try to vilify the router around the apartment or even leave the room with it? If the signal is restored, it means electromagnetic interference, and look for a source in the apartment, if in another room a similar situation is clearly a problem with the router, and if the signal strength is equally low on both firmware, the problem is clearly in the hardware.

The problem can be either interference or hardware. It seems that the first version of the WNDR3700 had problems with a sudden deterioration in the signal some time after purchase.

I solved the problem with a low signal by installing an antenna, you can buy it in a store, it will not cost more than 500 rubles, or you can assemble it yourself. Plus, the router itself selects the optimal wireless channel, I don’t see the point of setting it manually. There was also a problem when the 1st channel stood manually and the neighboring Asus appeared, there were constant disconnections. I have been looking for the problem for a long time.
