In general, the teacher in the 3rd year gave us topics, among which I came across "write a Trojan in order to monitor my girlfriend in VK" (the words of the teacher). Light shock, googling, confusion. I guess that I will have to write on the pluses with inserts asm'a. Then look for vulnerabilities in the eight (0day), and in the end, embellish all this with the vkontakte API. But I could not find sensible resources or books in this direction. Familiar with the basics of asma, pluses (better here). I have never done anything like this (this is where the whole root of evil lies). Whether you like it or not, you'll have to hand over your work. Doesn't take a bribe. Who can advise / recommend something where to dig, etc.?
PS And at least something in my guesses is right? (newbie, don't judge too harshly)

It's against the law. The teacher acts as a customer, you are a performer. You grab both. "Violation of privacy" , if so.
I think that there are two options:
- the teacher is an imbecile (which is unlikely, the position seems to hint)
- the student is jealous, either a pervert, or a jealous pervert;)

It all depends on which side to organize the observation of the girl :). In the simplest version, you can only get by with the VKontakte API and some kind of php: an application is written that requests access to the user profile (under what pretext to get this permission is already a separate topic) and the actual monitoring is being carried out.
In general, you can just write a hidden application that will stupidly take screenshots when you go to VKontakte and throw it off for soap - everything is written in C and without unnecessary troubles :)).

At least come up with something more believable. The teacher asked me to write a Trojan to spy on the girl. Not only is it illegal and you can get a very real term for this, it also sounds absolutely unconvincing. I would have said that I am a jealous girl, I can’t sleep, paranoid me that it changes all the time. Or another option - there is a girl who likes me, but does not want to meet with me. I want to merge her nudity for myself, or read correspondence. And then he came up with some coursework, it seems that not 10-year-old children are sitting here to believe in fairy tales)
