The specifics of programming in game development

Good evening. Actually a childhood dream (please do not criticize too much), to be a developer in the gaming industry. I approached this matter from a serious point of view (so far only mentally), relying not on Constructors, programming languages with Russian syntax, bydlokoding and step-by-step instructions on how to write your mario and add it to VK applications, but on a thorough approach to studying the IT sphere , of course, before proceeding to a more specific study of subjects, I would like to be more informed about exactly where IT, and probably more specifically programming, is closer to game development, namely: "How is it?", And what tools and knowledge will be needed. It is heard that at the moment there are many specializations in this area, a specific position is adjusted for each task. It's hard for me to figure it out who, in what shoes, feels like a developer (and of course he is). Therefore, it will be very interesting and useful for me to listen to every opinion, advice, experience on this issue, and specifically about the specialization of the IT sphere ingame development .
I think, but for now I just hope that I have specifically decided on the goal, and I don’t know, it’s early-late, I recently turned 18, I’m a 2nd year student at a technical school in a technical specialty that has nothing to do with IT, knowledge of English is dull, about programming I have only clear ideas, but still decided on a desperate start, I hope the knowledge and information that I will gather from various sources, including this one, will be the starting point on a "long journey", sorry if someone took time in vain.

Read articles on habré tagged with GameDevelopment and Unity3D. Game development is far from the easiest area in IT, I would even say the opposite. But, if this is your childhood dream - go for it! Master the programming language or platform (Unity3D, UDK Engine) to begin with.
Perhaps my article will help you: How to start game development?
By the way, there are already a lot of engines / platforms for creating games. There is not much in the article, for example, CryEngine or frameworks for developing for mobile platforms.

I personally am not a gamedev specialist, but as far as I know, you need to bot Unity (there are a lot of books on it, but in English) and then look for vacancies by this keyword. And English needs to be pumped, without it in any way. Here you can read how it's done. It's actually quite easy.
UPD: here it should also be noted that game dev can be different. Serverside developers are needed everywhere, for example, both in game development and non-game development. If these are browser games, then you need to navigate the web. If mobile, then for mobile development.
