The phone does not show charging, the percentage of charge. What to do?

Yesterday I put my phone on charge. After a couple of hours, I found out that it was turned off. He didn't turn on. After manipulating with pulling out and inserting the battery, he showed that he was charging (0% charge). And turned on. After turning on, the charging process does not show, and the percentage of charging is always 0%. After a minute or two, it cuts out. I inserted another battery (only 800 mAh, maybe less because it was used when the original 2000). The process and the percentage of charging also did not show, although the battery seemed to be charging a little. Lasted a couple of minutes, and passed out (perhaps because the battery is already very weak. Or because it was from a push-button Nokia). I don't know what could have happened to him. Maybe there was a jump or short circuit in the network? I'm thinking of changing the battery.

Jump.
Try another battery, but only in the store, provided that you can not buy it if this does not help. :)
As for the% indication, it's probably not necessary to change the battery, but to disassemble the phone, look for the problem and solder it. More precisely, either the charge controller itself is broken, for example, in smartphones based on the Qualcomm system, these chips are called Power management IC (PMIC), or from its "strapping". This should be done by a competent craftsman who can diagnose and solder in devices of such complexity and accuracy - at least at the level of laptops.
