The file structure of a small multi-pager, how to organize?

Good afternoon everyone!
There is a question about the structure of PAGES files for multi-page sites.
I learned how to make one-page sites, there are no problems.
Then I switched to sites with several pages, everything seems to be clear too: next to the index, I make more .html or .php files, or put them in the pages folder.

The problem arose when it was necessary to create a subpage like:
"mysite.com/page/subpage"
I found that in this case they make the "page" folder, and the "subpage" installation in it.
How then with the page page ? Is it done in the same place as the "page" folder and has the name "page.html" or is it in the "page" folder to make an index.html file?
Is it correct? If not, where to read and what to read?
Thank you.

Read about CMS and how they work.
In short, the program determines the path through the URL (the address of the page on the Internet), and, depending on the address, gives you the page you need. At the same time, the script itself, which processes the request from the client, is usually in the root of the site (index.php), and simply catches all requests coming to the site.
Therefore, as it was rightly said above, no one does statics if it is not the most-most-simple site.
