The best PHP forum?

What is the best PHP community forum?
Many people use XenForo but it is paid, is there really no equal to it in opensource.
Requirements: fast, modern look, user-friendly and customizable, with the ability to subscribe to users and topics, put likes, expandable.
PS: phpBB is currently being considered as an alternative, but why is XenForo better? If it actually has advantages, then of course $ 50 can be bought.
PS: as another option, I'm considering discourse.org - its display format is more lively chtoli)
Thank you.

phpBB is a good alternative to any paid script, along with XenForo for a full-fledged forum, you need to buy some extra goodies for not the smallest money

XenForo is very strange from the admin side, flexible, but I can’t figure it out without half a liter.
I always use IPB (more precisely already IPS), more than satisfied.
They are slightly more than all of a sudden paid.
Compare any free with paid. The difference is obvious.
You have to pay for all products, especially for quality ones.
If there is nothing to pay, then no one canceled the torrent edition, more precisely, for software / scripts it is called nulled (with a remote license check).
