The Bat deleting emails from the server?

There is corporate mail, Bat is used for access (there is no direct access to the server). In the settings (Bat), the item "Delete received letters from the server" is selected. A letter was sent to mail.ru, a file is attached to the letter. As I understand it, when reading a letter through the mail.ru web interface, this file should be deleted from the corporate mail server? Or it depends on the mail.ru account settings. And one more thing - how are attached files stored on a corporate server? Are they somehow converted to binary form during transmission? It seems that the base64 item is active in the settings

In the settings (Bat), the item "Delete received letters from the server" is selected - if POP3 is used, then (when starting Bat, all mail from the server is copied to the computer, and these letters are deleted on the server), - nothing is downloaded anywhere when logging in via the Web interface and is not deleted, except perhaps by the user.
