After I uploaded the project to Gitlab and turned off the PC, I got strange lines of code in activity_main.xml, where do they come from and how can I get rid of them? The project refused to compile.

These are the characters after the wrong merge. You tried to match two versions of a file in git, and you did it wrong. Learn to use git.
