Tell us about pentest?

Pentest is a cool thing, modern and promising. All this is good, but how to find a job as a pentester? What is the difference between the demand for this profession in the Russian Federation and abroad? Is there any division in the field of development into Junior, Middle, Team-Lead? If yes, then according to what pattern? How long does it take to learn pentest on your own? Where to show yourself?
Thanks in advance.

Pentest is not a profession, pentest is a combination of techniques and different areas of knowledge.
In principle, calling yourself a pentester is not particularly correct, the word "researcher" would be more accurate, and again, you can't know everything. You are either omniscient, but everything is superficial or a narrow specialist in one of the directions.
As you wrote in the comments “I need confidence that I won’t be left without a job.” then you don’t have to worry at all, you will have to learn a huge number of both basic areas in various IT industries and more deeply some of the areas.
Well, what about the gradations of junior-middle, etc. this is a very blurred line and is hardly applicable anywhere at all, more from the category of "such a ruler is accepted in our company and we still don't know how to use it"
PS In general, one does not study to be a "pentester", they become one as a result of gaining a wealth of knowledge and craving for research + great perseverance.
