Telegram bot with self-signed certificate not working?

Greetings. I want to raise a telebot on my home computer (gray IP) to control the router from a telegram (to limit the time my daughter is online). To do this, I made VPN tun with VPS. I set up nginx on the VPS, which forwards incoming tunnels. Made a self-signed SSL certificate, because. I gave up on Let's Encrypt for a free domain name only for a year, although everything worked with it. To check, I made a second bot on the server with the same certificate - everything works. Tell me what can be?

When creating a certificate via Let's Encrypt, you can only specify the domain name of the server, not the IP.
In both cases, one bot was on the home computer with VPN, and the second one was on the server. The difference is only in the certificates. The "home" bot works only with a certificate from Let's Encrypt, while the bot on the server works fine with any certificate.
