Task Scheduler: Requires simple regular disk access; tell me?
Hello,
there is a Win7 HDD, which, according to my observations, simply falls into sleep (video surveillance stops being written, you look - volume E: \ has fallen off. Through the Manager, you update the hardware configuration - it appears in both the Manager and Explorer. Does it fall asleep, or what?
In plans
I want to try to schedule some simple operation through the Scheduler that would access the volume E:\ every twenty minutes so that it does not sleep. Please
advise an example of such a task in the Scheduler. We need something simple and so that (if possible) the manager sitting at the computer is not frightened and not too distracted from
work.Thanks in advance, I always choose Answer-solution.

Of course, it would be correct to understand the reasons for the "falling off" of the disk. It may well be that he will soon give up. Or corny PSU does not pull in power. Do you have drive E - network or physical (on this PC)?
For the Task Scheduler, you can use the devcon utility , which will be able to perform device manipulations on a schedule. Perhaps it will help you to run devcon on a schedule, with the command line parameter "rescan"
Tynts .
You can also google about AAM, sometimes you can turn off sleep on the disk itself.
it makes sense to yank the disk if it twitches when recording the video stream to disk. most likely the disc will soon end. Perhaps the nickels were acidified on the board.
it seems to me that vd and seagate also have software so that the disk does not go to sleep
