Sync contacts across devices?

There is a need to synchronize contacts (address book) between several devices (Android, Desktop, Windows Phone).
I used to use a LiveID account, but after updating the physical devices on the anroid, the contacts from the live.com account are no longer synchronized on the new one.
Interested in a self-hosted solution and an application for mobile devices (Although an android - vinfon can be periodically updated manually) and support for any Windows client (better of course, standard contacts or Thenderbird), but you can also have your own client.
Zimbra was a good option in theory - but AD support is only there in the paid version.
I really want an opensource or free version (the server part does not matter under which OS, it is desirable that it requires up to 8GB of RAM).
Will someone tell?

@TSUKER

I installed Kolab as a simple alternative to Exchange - everything is OK in sync.

on Win 10 (1803) the People application was added, it pulls contacts from different sources and is quite correct.
