symbols in js. Is it frequently used?

I can not understand the concept of Symbol in any way. All the lessons are somehow dry on it and in a scientific language without chewing. I don’t want to waste a whole day understanding its essence and why it is needed, if it is used very rarely at all.
1. How often is it generally used in practice? Is there any relevance?
2. Does a junior need to know this topic? I plan to continue to learn reactJS in general and work on it, and it is also important how useful this topic will be in react for the future.
