Strangely buggy mouse in windows 7. How to cure?

Today the mouse started working strangely. Symptoms are as follows:
- In modal windows windows (like, do you really want to exit? yes/no), the left mouse button does not work on the yes/no buttons.
- Checkboxes in some programs are not installed and not removed
- In all installed browsers (ff, chrome, ie), the mouse pointer over a text link turns into a pointer (hand with a finger) only over the beginning of the link, above its end the pointer is an arrow, as if there is no link below it.
What did:
1. Google.
2. Rebooted.
3. Connected the mouse to another usb.
4. Connected another obviously working mouse.
5. Left only the mouse and keyboard in the usb ports.
6. The fresh win7 installed in the virtual machine has the same symptoms.
7. Updated antivirus.
8. Quick anti-virus check.
All of the above did not work.
I'm planning a full anti-virus scan from a boot cd. While there is no time for this - work.
Maybe someone has some ideas? Someone faced similar? Help...
UP: Looks like the issue has been resolved.
What else did:
9. Restored from the April backup. Did not help.
10. Removed all the programs that are not really needed and that I have not used for a long time and ran my hands through the Program files folder, cleaned everything left by the uninstallers. Did not help.
11. Left the Avira Rescue CD to be checked overnight. 4 viruses were found, 3 of them were already in quarantine. The fourth exploit on java. THAT HELPED. It hurts so bad, I can't even believe it.

@RusTech

It feels like you have some kind of transparent window layer above.

Maybe the mouse buttons are changed in the settings?

Try changing your mouse settings.
With pointers - use the standard pointer scheme. If you already have it, then select another one, apply and return the standard one again.

There were almost the same symptoms. Caught some script in the internet. Launched this program and it helped.
