Strange proxmox/kvm memory consumption?

We decided to try kmv on Hetzner. In general, everything works - but recently we discovered a strange memory consumption.

The number of guest machines has increased by 1-2, while memory consumption has decreased.
The machines respond, though the performance has not yet been measured.
Question: why did the memory decrease and (if the machines went into swap) how to configure or track it so that this does not happen?

As I understand it, this is the total memory consumption? If so, then besides kvm, there is a lot more that can take away and free up memory.
It is necessary to compare all processes or measure only certain ones.
