Strange brakes of the MacOS interface began. What could it be?
I have an iMac, bought a year ago for work. All the time I worked without any problems, I was pleased with the pleasant interface and in general. About 1.5 months ago, I had to install Windows7 on it through the bootcamp, since solidworks with full assemblies for working in a virtual machine was fiercely slowed down. For some time he worked only in Windows, going into Macos very rarely. The other day, the need to sit all the time in Windows has more or less disappeared, and I decided to please myself with a macos, but the trouble is that the interface of my favorite macos began to slow down. When moving the windows, everything is twitchy and sharp, the dock also twitches when leaving the edge of the screen. Safari, when expanded to full screen, twitches, the windows are folded twitchy. I haven't noticed any other brakes yet. What could it be, and, most importantly, from what? After all, I did not touch makos for a long time. How to fix this thing?

See what kind of graphics adapter is included, is it not Intel Graphics 3000?
I encountered very strange brakes when even reinstalling OSX did not help. Geekbench results were 2-3 times lower than expected . By the way, I recommend starting with this: close all possible programs, make sure that the processor is not particularly busy with anything, run Geekbench (a free utility), compare with the table. If the results are significantly lower than expected, then you may have a case similar to mine .
After a long painful search, I was helped (for the first time) by fixing file permissions (the key was booting from an external drive). And the second time - resetting the SMC settings (links in English, but the instructions are simple - if it's still not clear, ask).
You can try disabling Spotlight
In general, if the typewriter is Lion, then it's better to upgrade to Mountain Lion
Alternatively, due to a long downtime, Spotlight started reindexing.
But it's still strange. Even on laptops, I have not so serious freezes because of this.
I suffer with retina 5K
, maybe there are options?
according to Geekbench, everything is at the level of the others, everything seems to work, but the animation and some actions slow down a lot, and with everything loaded, I launch doom3 and everything flies at the maximum, well, what is missing, where is the bottleneck, what kind of setup ????
