id_rsa.pub does not work with one ip address

id_rsa.pub is a text file. It may or may not work. Something else doesn't work for you. Try to write clearly what you are doing and what is not working.

You connect via ssh using your private key. The public one must be stored in access_keys on another server.
There are several standard problems:
- wrong username
- firewall block
- wrong passphrase
