Open device manager and look at the controller (well, or the driver).
Go into the BIOS (UEFI) and see the operating mode.
Run any of the testing utilities (AIDA, Sandra, PC Mark, CrystallDiskInfo, and so on)
Indirectly by read / write speed :)
