Now I decided to look at the vacancies of programmers in St. Petersburg, in the end, what I see. Most often, they require knowledge of SQL and, as I understand it, MySQL / Oracle DBMS.

Question: is there any point in learning the data of the language and DBMS, and what available literature can you recommend on this subject?

MySQL should not be equated with Oracle, the scope of these databases is different.
On mysql, you can read the documentation on the official website, and look through the questions on the corresponding forum on sql.ru for a better understanding of the subject area and, in principle, you can already start working somehow.
With Oracle, everything is somewhat more complicated, it is an expensive database in which data is usually orders of magnitude more expensive, here it is easier to start the path with official courses and official certification.

There are not so many specialists (professionals) in Oracle and they receive many times more than specialists in Muscle ... But all the same, you can’t learn such things from manuals (unless you are, of course, a supergenius). It takes time, experience and good mentors.
If we consider the database as a class of work, then the tSQL language is almost the same in all these databases. It's just that the principles of operation of these databases are different and the application varies: for example, in MySQL, non-relative (denormalized) tables are all the time, but for Oracle this is unacceptable. For Muskul and for Oracle, these are fundamentally different approaches to security, transactions, and other internal things. Muskul is much easier, because most sites have a backup))) but the backup in the bank for a day back can no longer be rolled back
