"Spare" profession for a programmer?

If suddenly, God forbid, there is a big mess or even a BP, then, as I see it, the profession of a programmer will become, at least, in low demand. At least, web programmers in this number will definitely not be needed.
Suppose the war is over, the borders of the Motherland have been defended. it's time to establish a peaceful life. But the economy is torn apart, the Internet, like the global network, does not exist.
So the question arose for me, what "real" profession can be in demand, and which one can learn at the present time having a main job. Those. I'm not talking about "crusts", namely, to acquire a skill, and not just theoretical knowledge.
We believe that hands grow from the right place and the use of any tool at the household level does not cause problems (hammers, screwdrivers, various wrenches,
So, the first thing that comes to mind is an auto mechanic and a doctor (surgeon, therapist - I'm far from medicine, so I'm ready to listen to other options). But you can’t just learn to be a doctor, and, even more so if you have a main profession, it will be problematic to get practice. Everything is clear with auto mechanics - how big a mess would not have happened if humanity survives, then mechanics in the form of cars will be preserved, but learning to understand is quite realistic - you can buy some kind of bug and try to disassemble and assemble it, and even in the present, while still peacetime , this knowledge will not be superfluous.
Let's omit the knowledge of small arms and the ability to use them - this is, as it were, an obvious fact and will definitely not be superfluous (plus it is understood that you are a normal man, not one of these, from kreakles, God forgive me, and beat the enemy, defended the Motherland, which means dealing with you know how to use weapons), but I don’t consider it as a profession, unless we are going to earn money by banditry))

Alas, you no longer need a job. You will need to do absolutely everything that you can and cannot. Look for food and survive. View Bear Grylls

How is it that programmers will not be in demand? They will be in high demand!! Only now it will be necessary to develop in engineering, electrics and microcontrollers ...
But what about the automation of production processes? If there are few people left, then naturally it will be necessary to look for ways to automate the processing of suitable land, cultivation, harvesting, and mining. And if there is no suitable land left, then I already imagine huge automated hydroponic plants for growing vegetables, which give a selective crop several times a year, in a huge number. Yes, this is only a small part where programmers will be needed.
Do you think it will be possible to do this without programmers??? It will also be necessary to develop robotics, both civil and military.
It will be necessary to re-raise the global network, in the end ... Who will do it? Bricklayer, concrete worker, locksmith or supply engineers will do this???
And the fact that programmers will have to do some kind of menial work does not mean that he will cease to be a programmer ... This is the same when a programmer knocks down 2 boards and is called a carpenter, although he does this to make a robot arm. ..
Don't you know what a programmer can be capable of?
If you are preparing for a post-apocalypse, then develop in engineering, electrical and microcontrollers. You are guaranteed to be helpful! Even more than everyone else.

So, there is no network, there are a lot of hungry bandits with Colts / Kalashnikovs around. Let this contingent be the main client (and there will be many of them, as I see it). First we need to recruit a dozen of these guys. How? I think I served with someone, beat enemies with someone, in general, we take our people into action.
Further, we remember that everyone wants to eat something ... Therefore, you need to get at least bread somewhere. The chain of bread is something like this: a field - wheat - an elevator - a mill - a bakery - a store shop.
Field - is it hard to find a piece of suitable land?
Wheat - to sow on the field and harvest - hard, but strong preparation is not needed
Elevator - in a primitive case - a barn
Mill - a couple of millstones + captured enemies = flour
Bakery - fire and molds yes it's in the bag
Shop - counter and cash register
Actually sit down at any stage of the chain. Here you will be able to feed your brothers and you yourself will not die, and you will also have a business.

such an option is possible only in the case of nuclear strikes, and there I'm afraid a very small part of humanity will survive and the radiation will then finish its job.

In this situation - an electrician, electromechanic, installation. Or a builder. build houses / production, renew or restore electrical networks. That's it.

Now something similar is happening in the Donbas. So it is better to have skills in handling equipment (military, civilian) and know what plumbing and electricity are and how to repair and build it all.

I think the profession of "supply engineer" will be relevant - the person who can calculate what kind of production needs to be organized in the vicinity - for example, how many and what kind of farms are needed to provide a small city with all the necessary products; what factories need to be built to start the restoration of the city.

In my opinion, a person always wants to eat, and many people also want to eat deliciously, because the profession of a cook will be in demand anyway. They can also teach in courses, often for a nominal fee, and there will be quite a lot of benefits.
PS I like to cook myself, but there is no profession of a cook :)

You can start writing a book. Most likely fantasy. It's exciting, and besides, programmers have well-developed creative thinking. You can write music.
But this is only if you have a soul for it.

Under such conditions, as the economy is torn apart, to peaceful life is like walking to the moon.
You have to learn to shoot and build fences. Because so many lovers of freebies will come running ...

Regardless of the degree of the apocalypse, doctors, prostitutes and teachers will be in demand. At first, teachers will not be needed, but when it settles down more or less, humanity will try to restore the institution of education.

In our case, a system administrator will be a real alternative to a web programmer, since there is no getting away from computers, and computer literacy among the bulk of the people is very low. People will not return to paper - everyone has forgotten how it is done.

even if everything is completely bad, then everyone needs bread and toilet paper every day. Those. food and processing niches (after any collapse from humanity, a lot of everything remains) will always be open.
If things are not so bad, then engineering, electrical and basic electronics will also be in high demand. Well, you will also have to defend your own very actively (read Andrey Cruz - it's fascinating about survival after "H").
