Software for diagnosing a problematic application on android?

Third party apps installed. Not trash. Only the ones you need.
Sometimes the screen does not turn on when you press home. And that is all. You have to take the battery out and turn it on again.
There is a program for logging diagnostics - at what point in the activity does it "hang"?
