Smart home based on a personal computer

I am going to make a smart home on my own, if necessary I will write the necessary software. Interested in what can be used as an aggregator of signals from sensors, so that in the future, through, for example, usb, transmit signals to a PC, and only then process them.
I would like to connect to this device, control them and interrogate: servos, relays, dimmers.

It seems that a linux-based server (even some raspberry pi) + arduino would be a good option.

Look in the direction of 1-wire buses, a controller on a PC + a bunch of all kinds of terminal devices - sensors, motors, locks ...

Right now I am developing a smart home system for my apartment. For signal aggregation, I made a device based on peaks. For high-level logic, I installed a single-board computer based on Linux.
Here is the repository: github.com/amlinux/homeauto
There are all the schematics, ready-made wiring for boards, firmware for controllers and libraries for the computer. While the work is still in progress, but all the electronics are already debugged and working - you can use it.
