Similar to Dropbox, Ubuntu One etc. for your hosting?

Hi all!
Now it has become quite fashionable to use cloud storage services, such as Dropbox, Ubuntu One, Google Docs etc., which is not surprising, because it is very convenient!
However, for a number of reasons , storing particularly sensitive and important files on such services would be too reckless.
Hence my question: Is there something with similar functionality (sync, encryption) for self hosting?

Was asked recently. Try sshfs . Or encrypt the files that you store on the dropbox with something. Or don't upload anything secret to it.
