Need a website quickly then the choice is definitely Laravel.
You need a fast site, then definitely Yii2.
And to study all Laravel Web technologies, it is somehow more humane in development with it, everything is easy and simple. Yii is much more complicated (less understandable for a beginner).

Beginner - Yii. Silex functionality will not be enough for you.

I would advise you to take a closer look at Symfony2. Also a great framework, a huge pile of ready-made code, rich documentation and a wide community.
