Should You Use Wallet Apps?

I wanted to try NFC payment on my smartphone. I've never used it before, but I love trying new things. So in general, everywhere I have been paying with a card for a long time and carrying cash only on a minibus. But I'm concerned about the question: is it dangerous to use such applications? Could they somehow steal money from the linked card?
Also, what Android app do you recommend? Probably, especially considering that I have a Samsung, I should choose Samsung Pay ...

Depends on what kind of application of course but in general the answer is no.
If the phone on Samsung supports Samsung Pay (not everyone supports it) and the card is also supported (depends on the bank and type of visa / mc, if not supported, it will say) - Samsung Pay of course. More comfortable. The bonus will be payment via MST (if the device holds) - on the terminal that do not know how to NFC. If the device is rooted, forget it (because Knox will probably be tripped).
Samsung Pay also provides additional security by generating a temporary number .. One of the drawbacks is that if you make a return (in the sense of canceling the operation), then you need to do it on your phone, because the card number that the store considered is different. (The same problems as with Apple Pay itself).
Other options (here is only NFC already and not MST):
With root - yes, they will resist and say that either NFC-payment or root, but usually you can suppress this resistance.
