Should I use MongoDB 3.0 or 2.4 now?

in 3.0, it seems to me that the syntax for working with the database has become more complicated, it has become unobvious and there are many lines to perform the action.
in 2.4, the same action could be performed by writing 2-3 times less letters.
The question is what to choose?
Why is Mongo 3.0 so much better than 2.4 to tolerate these syntax complications?
It seems to me or there are many times more methods in the new version?
