Codeigniter 3 is better in my opinion. I tried to write on 4, complete crap. Codeigniter 3 is either more convenient or I'm dumb and don't know.

I advise you to use CodeIgniter 4 .
The developers have taken the best from Laravel and Yii .
Ci4 is ideal even for API
