Should I use a js framework when developing a WordPress theme?

I am slowly expanding my WordPress theme for the project. There was a need to make custom select, radio buttons. I can do it manually of course, write css and js for such small purposes. Does it make sense to use some kind of framework? Which one, why? Didn't work with them at all, perhaps just a reason?
