Should I read Thinking in Java?

Is it worth reading Thinking in Java in 2018, which seems to have been last published in 2006?

Since then, in Java, only functional style elements have appeared. The book provides a base on all the main tools of the language, allowing you to work with both old legacy code, say in Java 4, and modern versions. In addition, Eckel writes quite simply and the book is easily perceived. There is a good translation published in 2016.

A huge plus of Java, for which corporations love it, is stability and full backward compatibility. Most of the knowledge from the Java2 books is still relevant, not to mention Java6, described in the 4th edition of The Java Philosophy.

Worth 100%. The title of the book thinking in java is not accidental. Very good for understanding core.
