Should I quit my job to study?
Hello.
There have already been a series of similar questions, but there the question was built exactly the opposite.
First of all, let me tell you a little about the situation.
I am now in my 4th year and have been successfully combining work and study for the last year and a half (I missed the number of pairs, read on the fingers, we are strict with this, suddenly I passed the last two sessions perfectly, I came to junior at work, now the lead developer is more needed by the team * than companies).
So, my bachelor's degree happened to me:
Moreover, the diploma is real and the topic is very new and relevant for the Russian Federation. It's just that no one has done this, and in connection with changes in legislation, 100% will be needed and in demand. However, a similar task will be pulled by a few people from the faculty (including masters). An offer was made to me: either I’m writing such a diploma or I’m going nafig from the institute to all 4 sides without it.
When I put the question this way, I am tormented by conflicting feelings.
On the one hand, work with a very good team, interesting reengineering tasks, minimal growth opportunities and a non-market salary, on the other hand, study with an army way, an adequate team, but a very promising topic.
Now I roughly understand what the market needs and I can make an effort to learn several new frameworks and technologies, because it will stupidly free up time.
I understand that in any case the decision is up to me, but
maybe someone from the community got into similar situations, I would be very grateful if you describe your experience and / or any other thoughts on the situation.
Thanks in advance.
*) salaries differ from the market ones downwards, so the level of the team is known and it is pleasant to raise it. As soon as a person reaches a good level, he takes and brings down. But to work with those who do not understand that SELECT * FROM t; - in 99.9% of cases - nothing more than shitty code, it's also hard.

If the topic is promising, one hundred percent choose it, you will always have time to work on your uncle. Especially if they pay below the market, what is the conversation about? Contact with the team is not going anywhere.
I was in a pretty similar situation. I worked for 1.5 years and quit at the beginning of the 5th year, although the diploma was not promising and was written in order to be. I’m just tired of being torn into two camps, I decided that I’ll still have time to work out in my whole life, and I need to catch the air of the student body before it disappears. During the “doing nothing” period, I rethought my views on life a little, tried new technologies and just what was interesting, but I didn’t have enough time and energy due to work and study. My opinion is that the work will not disappear, but the choice is still yours.
I think at least for the sake of not wasting 4 years, finish your studies already, and you will find a job even better than the previous one infa 100%
If the work is not worthwhile and the pay is low, then it is definitely not worth it. Another question is whether studying is worth it, whether you can use the freed up time for something more significant over time. Let's say, find a new, more promising job (perhaps you should look in the direction of freelancing and gain a customer base there).
Learn boldly, you will still have time to hunch over to your heart's content.
From the text, I understood that studying is not a burden for you, only there is not enough time - you need to finish your studies. Work will not run away from you; you have already pumped this skill enough to not worry about the future after receiving a diploma.
And I dropped out of school because the Siberian Federal University does not provide education - sheer profanity \u003d\
Finish your studies! If you don’t plan now, then in 5-10 years you suddenly want to emigrate to another country, and without a diploma in your specialty and experience AFTER receiving a diploma, you will not be able to do this.
In a similar situation, I chose to study while doing freelance work on simple projects.
Probably not worth it. Do you know how many more jobs there will be in life...? If possible, study up. If the situation does not allow - change the form of education, or go to the academician.
Consider studying as part of the job. So it will be easier.
The 90s and 2000s have already passed, when they did not look at education. Now they often look at him. This, of course, may not be correct, but these are the realities.
Study, study and study again. With a diploma, you are more likely to get a more promising job, especially since you already have experience. Yes, and the relevance of the topic can help you discover something of your own and not work for your “uncle”.
You say that at your current job you have grown from a junior to a leading developer in a year and a half + you also say that the salaries are lower than the market ones and everyone, having gained their wits, dumps. So, are you leaving soon anyway? So what's the difference - now or in six months? And if now you can also make a good diploma, then there’s nothing to think about at all.
Definitely education. You still have a lot of work to do, and with an excellent team as well. But if you quit your studies now, then probably already forever ... And they can ask you for a diploma when applying for a good position. It's just that they say that no one needs him ...
And if you have proven yourself at your current job, then you can be taken back later without any problems. I had such cases in my office, and among my friends too. People left, sometimes even to other offices, and after a couple of years they returned and everything is fine.
Finish my studies. Firstly, it’s trite because flushing the previous 4 years down the toilet is at least stupid and insulting, and secondly, a person with a diploma is always quoted higher, simply in fact, even if in the end the future career with the specialty received at the university does not overlap much.
