Should I buy a new router?

Hello!
I have a megabit network in my apartment (the apartment is rented and there is no way to lay a gigabit network) and there is a simple router (tp link wr740n). At a distance of 5-6 meters and one wall, I get about 37 Mbps for downloading and the same amount for uploading via Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz (measured from a macbook on speedtest).
Should I buy a more expensive router in the hope of increasing speed or not?
Thank you!

Wi-Fi is always better to test in real conditions. Ask someone you know for a normal router, if possible. And so, nothing is clear from the description, even if 37 is good or bad?

@eapeap

there is a simple router (tp link wr740n).

He has a "technological" WiFi speed of 150, the real one is about 50. 37 remains through the wall, everything is fine, he stupidly cannot give more.
A router that is n and with a speed of not 150, but 300 will most likely allow you to get everything you pay for.
Besides:
the apartment has a megabit network

What is it like? The wire is not 8-core, but 4?
Tariff - 100 megabits

On 4-core wires throughout the apartment, you can organize a 100-megabit network and put n 300 Mbit router in AP mode in each room. There will be a maximum speed throughout the apartment if the walls greatly weaken the main router, which you put in place of the existing one.

This is a good speed for your conditions. If you want to increase it, buy another router and put it in access point mode in the target room, connecting it to the main cable. Also scan neighboring networks with inssider and select the least loaded channel.

How many foreign networks around? Put a wifi analyzer on your phone and see if it's enough to change the channel. If possible, switch from 2.4GHz to 5GHz.
