Should I be afraid to use firebase?

Question for people who have experience with firebase.
In the documentation they have a Blaze Plan (pay as you go)
I want to launch my web application and have no idea how many people will visit it. Is it worth it to be afraid of "flying in" for big money, on the Blaze plan? For example, some kind of DOS attack, or some other pitfalls?
I'm new to programming, so I don't know much.
So is it worth it? Or is their free traffic "enough for my eyes"?
Let's say, for example, if my resource is visited by 1000 people per day.
Please share your experience of use and payment amounts!
