Should a novice networker start with CCENT/CCNA ICND1 100-101?

I am a php programmer, I want to go online because there is no need for programmers in my location. In this regard, there was a choice with which book to start learning. I was recommended immediately with this CCENT / CCNA ICND1 100-101 from Cisco. They say they don't need to read Tanenbaum.

Yes, the ICND1 and ICND2 books are very good books for learning networking principles from scratch.
If you buy the paper version, you will also receive the keys for the exam test based on Boson Exam Software. At least 5 years ago they were still given.

If you are not going to take the exam, then the network cycle for the smallest will be easier and more useful, cisca books are redundant
