Setting up LUKS encryption on an LVM partition?

Once again Hello dear guys
1) When setting up LUKS partition encryption, do you need to format or pre-format the LVM partition that will be created by the LUKS partition?
2) Do I need to format a disk partition or create a partition on the disk then format this partition before pvcreate and create a VG volume (volume group) ???

At one time I wrote Encrypted /home on Fedora . There is an option Full disk encryption on Fedora 26 , but judging by the question, you need the first one.
