Server hacked?

Good afternoon!
Today I found a strange thing on the server... There are >200000 certificates in the /tmp folder. Identification errors in auth.log. Where to dig?)
Update:
Dropbox-client turned out to be the culprit. Thank you all for your help!

openssl x509 -in /tmp/somefile -noout -subject

The fastest is dropbox-client
