In fact, some offices give out servers for free. One problem is that there are no hard drives, and server hard drives usually have software binding to the manufacturer (a simple drive will not work corny) and cost like a wing from an airplane.

This Dell can fit regular SATA drives.
This HP at one time tried to do hardware lock.

It’s quite real, a year ago we handed out such rubbish for free, where delivery is several times more expensive than a server, it eats a lot, the hardware is tired, do you need it?

This is some old shit.
Electricity eats like crazy, there are no replacement parts, Orange distributes about the same for free.
So it’s real - it’s just more expensive to dispose of it, and you can’t throw it in a landfill in America =)
